The Jacobean provided a pleasant stay for my business trip. The staff were exceptionally professional and assisted in ensuring that my meeting arrangements were met with efficiency. The comfortable room featured a workspace that was ideal for my needs. the breakfast offered a good selection, with freshly cooked items and a relaxing atmosphere to start the day.

    crispy hash browns
    friendly staff
    clean rooms
    black mould
    non-standard plugs

The breakfast at The Jacobean was a fresh highlight, especially those crispy hash browns that hit the spot! The friendly staff added a lovely touch to our stay, making us feel right at home. Plus, we appreciated the clean rooms that sparkled, setting a cozy vibe.

The bathroom had some pesky black mould on the walls, which was a bit of a letdown. the plugs by the bed weren't standard UK ones, making it a hassle to charge devices—thankfully there were options near the TV.

I appreciated the charming decor and spacious areas, making it easy for us seniors to navigate comfortably. The staff were particularly attentive, ensuring our experience was delightful and hassle-free throughout our stay.

Some areas could use better signage.

    charming atmosphere
    beautiful garden
    unpleasant smell

The highlight of my stay was the charming atmosphere, especially in the bar area where it felt vibrant and social. The outdoor garden area overlooks fields and trees, providing a nice setting for families on sunny days.

Unfortunately, the room I stayed in had a strong, unpleasant smell that made for a difficult night. The decor seemed dated and didn’t match the photos online. it felt more like a run-down establishment. The bathroom had a dirty wall and a hole in the door, which gave an overall impression of neglect. There were barely any power outlets near the bed, and the absence of a lift made lugging luggage up the stairs annoying. I also encountered a peculiar door locking mechanism that was confusing and potentially unsafe. While the location was decent, the external appearance and the general state of cleanliness left much to be desired.

    charming place
    friendly staff
    functional issues
    initial discomfort
    hot water shortage

The location is a definite highlight, being close to family. The four-poster bed offered a delightful touch, and it was incredibly comfortable. we faced issues with hot water availability and a malfunctioning washbasin, which dampened our initial experience. The breakfast selection was pleasant, providing a nice start to the day.

    Nice stay with friendly vibes

Had a decent stay for 2 nights. Staff were super chill and helpful, especially during breakfast. Room was comfy, though kinda worn, with a shabby shower curtain and rusty radiator. The bar area was a cool spot to relax, but it could really use a facelift. great staff made up for the small issues.

A solid selection for a brief stopover in Coventry with value for money. The afternoon tea was lovely, and the selection of sandwiches and cakes was really good. If you're planning to dine in, just check the menu prices beforehand.

    lovely view
    pleasant staff
    fantastic food
    check-in confusion
    breakfast issues
    decor wear

I recently stayed at The Jacobean for one night. The check-in process could use some improvement as there was no one at the reception when I arrived, which led to some confusion. My room had a lovely view and was overall comfortable, but I noticed some wear and tear in the decor. The bathroom was clean but lacked sufficient toiletries. I appreciated the tea and coffee facilities in the room. The bar food was fantastic, and I thoroughly enjoyed the large portion sizes. the breakfast did not meet my expectations. The scrambled eggs were cold, and the sausage was tough, which dampened the morning experience. The staff were pleasant throughout my stay, but a bit more attentiveness could go a long way. a mixed experience with some highlights and notable drawbacks.

The hotel has a homely vibe, and the rooms were warm and comfortable during my stay. I really enjoyed the breakfast which was quite delicious and reasonably priced. The location is also a plus, making it easy to catch a bus to the city for sightseeing. the decor feels a bit old-fashioned and could use some refreshing.
